

Race Preview: Conference Championship
The final weekend of the NECTC fall season is upon us and shaping up to be a great finish! The conference championship is back in New York after a short stint in New Jersey, and athletes will be fighting to capture the coveted 200 points to solidify their final standing. Race Preview: Buzzard's Bay
The NECTC shifts its attention back to the sprint distance this weekend at Buzzard’s Bay. 140 athletes from 18 universities will be racing for the 100 points up for grabs. Fun fact for the bay: The name was given to the bay by colonists who saw a large bird that they called a buzzard near its shores. The Course The swim is a 1/3 mile ocean swim in the bay itself. Race Preview: Lake George
The NECTC hits its third state in as many weeks, this time visiting New York for the Lake George Triathlon Festival. The olympic race at Lake George has become a staple of the NECTC schedule and one of the most popular races among our athletes. Lake George is nicknamed the Queen of American Lakes, is over 32 miles long, and drains into its northern partner, Lake Champlain. The swim course at Lake George goes off from a small beach. Race Preview: Challenge Maine
The NECTC moves further north this week into the state of Maine. This time around there are still lobsters, but the race isn't called Lobsterman. Challenge Maine is another race of the immensely popular Challenge Family series. In the past this race was under the control of Revolution 3, and this is the first year the Challenge Family has a chance to make its mark on the event. Race Preview: Cranberry Trifest
This weekend the NECTC opens up the season in Lakeville, Massachusetts at the Cranberry Trifest Sprint Triathlon. In last year’s opener Karim Mabrouk of the University of Connecticut and Riley Lantz of the University of Vermont took the overall male and female podiums. However, it was MIT and Drexel with deep performances who won the male and female team competitions respectively. This year neither of last year’s winners will be toeing the starting line.
